The Summer Meeting of the Smart and Electric Ship Research Association was held from the 24th (Thursday) to 25th (Friday) of August at Seoul National University’s New Engineering Building 301. The event was attended by a total of 90 preregistered researchers from universities, research institutes, and industry who are involved in the research of smart autonomous ships and electric propulsion ships.
 

The subsequent research finding presentation sessions consisted of four sessions, two for autonomous navigation and two for electric propulsion. There were a total of 20 presentations, five for each session. In line with the previous meeting, the meeting was held as a single-track event, allowing researchers in autonomous navigation technology and electric propulsion technology to share their research with one another. In addition to sharing the results of domestic academic-industry joint research findings on autonomous navigation technologies, the meeting was attended by Korea's leading companies in the field of electric propulsion technology, including Hanwha Aerospace, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, Dongin Ensys, HD Hyundai Electric, and LS Electric. The meeting served as a venue that brought the academia and industry closer, as these companies shared their experiences and practical solutions in the field of commercialization technology R&D, plus the difficulties and technical solutions to shipbuilding and its operations.
