[SNAK News] 2023 Korean Association of Ocean Science and Technology Societies (KAOSTS) Joint Conference

The Korean Association of Ocean Science and Technology Societies (KAOSTS), a leading institution in Korea that engages in the development of science and technology for the marine sector in Korea, successfully hosted the 2023 Joint Academic Conference of the Korean Association of Ocean Science and Technology Societies (KAOSTS). The event was supported by the participation of six leader academic societies in Korea that are involved in the development of marine science and technology. With more than 2,500 participants, and presentation of about 990 academic papers, with 30 booths operated by 23 companies in the maritime sector, the conference came to a successful close.

This year’s event successfully organized a massive joint academic conference with participating experts and professionals from across the marine science, shipbuilding, engineering, and environmental fields. The conference helped to enhance connectivity between the marine science and the technology sectors with various stakeholders in relevant policies and industries, ensuring better integration of marine science and technology. 16 winners were awarded the Future Marine Science and Technology Award, which targets graduate students nationwide, boosting the morale and pride of young researchers. A two-day online job fair was also hosted, providing a platform to offer onsite employment consultation and consulting services for students.
