​ Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME)​ 

- DSME announced a localization development plan for mandatory ship cybersecurity regulations that will take effect in January 2023 and suggestions for application of ship cybersecurity regulations to vessels at the 2022 Smart Mobility Seminar.

- DSME will build an ecofriendly wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) to which “smart ship” technology is applied.

- DSME has signed a business agreement with CB&I, a subsidiary of McDermott, an energy-specialized engineering company in the U.S., for the development of large liquefied hydrogen carrier technology.


​ Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI)

- HHI held a proclamation ceremony for the restart of Gunsan Shipyard. The event was followed by a steel-cutting ceremony and a factory tour.

- HHI held the 2022 Companywide Safety Improvement Activity (Hi-SAFE) Contest at the Integrated Safety Education Center at its headquarters in Ulsan and awarded a total of KRW 48 million in prize money to 13 excellent teams.

- Hyundai Engine, an affiliate of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, completed the construction of an ecofriendly engine plant in Daebul Industrial Complex in Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do, where shipyard companies are concentrated.


​ Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SHI)

- Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung Engineering, Lotte Chemical, GS Energy, SK Energy, SK Earthon, and Malaysian Petronas announced that a memorandum of understanding was signed for developing the Shepherd CCS Project, a carbon capture-transportation-storage project between Korea and Malaysia.

- SHI announced that it had successfully completed the construction of Reliance's RUBY FPSO in India and sailed away to the Bay of Bengal oil field in eastern India.

- SHI participated in Gastech 2022 and introduced state-of-the-art energy technology such as the LNG carriers and FLNG (floating liquefied natural gas production facilities) products, which are in rapidly increasing demand, as well as liquefied hydrogen carriers, liquefied carbon dioxide carriers, and carbon dioxide capture and storage (OCCS) systems. 


​ HJ Shipbuilding & Construction

- HJ Shipbuilding & Construction started operating a ship block manufacturing plant in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do, in line with the increase in orders for commercial vessels.​

​ Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co., Ltd. (HMD)

 

- HMD simultaneously obtained international standard energy management system (ISO50001) and anticorruption management system (ISO37001) certifications from Lloyd’s Register (LRQA), an international verification agency.

 

​ Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HSHI)

- HSHI held a Discussion on Manpower Policy for the Shipbuilding Industry in the Southwest Area of Jeollanam-do to solve the manpower shortage in the southwest region at Hotel Hyundai in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do.


​ K Shipbuilding

- K Shipbuilding announced that it had transferred the LNG Fuel Gas Supply System (LNG FGSS) technology to Koseri Co., Ltd. (CEO Jae-ryu Bae), a shipbuilding and marine equipment company.


​ Korean Register (KR)

 

- Korean Register was approved for membership at the General Assembly of the International Ship Safety Association (INSA) held in Istanbul, Turkey.​
 

​ Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. 

- Daehan Shipbuilding has won an order for two Aframax-class crude oil carriers from Greek shipping company ATLAS.

 
​ Dasun Shipbuilding & Engineering 

- Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering won the Minister's Award in the commercialization technology category at the 2022 Industrial Innovation Technology Award of the Year ceremony.

 

​ Korean Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI)

 

- KOMERI entered into a business agreement ceremony for support for companies in the field of marine nuclear power with Korea Nuclear Power Holdings and ten other organizations at KOMERI’s Mieum headquarters.

​ Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO)

 

- On September 27, the KRISO announced that a naming ceremony for the 500-㎥-class LNG bunkering vessel K LNG Dream, which was developed for the first time in Korea, was held at EK Heavy Industries in Goseong, Gyeongsangnam-do Province.

- KRISO obtained AIP certification from Korean Register for the 15-MW floating offshore wind power platform.​​

 
​ Research Institute of Medium & Small Shipbuilding (RIMS)

-RIMS will open a Repair Shipbuilding 3D Reverse-Engineering Expert Training Course using a 3D scanner for the smart repair shipbuilding industry.

 
▶ Korea Marine Equipment Association (KOMEA) 

- KOMEA held a global business conference for shipbuilding and marine equipment in Alkoba, Saudi Arabia on October 19, 2022.
