The 16th Spring Meeting of Naval Architecture & Ocean ICT Convergence Technology Research was held from May 12 (Thu.) to May 13 (Fri.) at Building No. 3 of College of Engineering, Chungnam National University. Professor Soonseop Lee or chairman of the Research delivered his opening speech and welcoming message in the opening of the workshop, followed by the 3rd general assembly meeting to discuss measures to continue its activities.

In the main program, two sessions consisted of academic research related to ICT and industrial applications were held to provide the participants with an opportunity to share their opinions on 7 topics. 

In the first session, Dr. Cheonhong Min introduced digital twin technologies being developed by using the wave-power generation system of oscillating water column operated in Jeju under the title of “cases of digital twin technologies for optimal power generation of marine energy”. Inha University presented on cases of technology application for Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) for failure prediction and diagnosis of marine systems and equipment. Chungnam National University introduced data platform classification system to obtain sensor data from smart ship. 

In the second session, Gyeongsang National University explained about the cases of building remote monitoring system of open rack vaporizer (ORV) and PartDB unveiled drone technologies that are currently used in defense industry. Lastly, DSME presented on its latest information and communications technologies that are under development or applied. 

General assembly meeting was held during the workshop and the members discussed on measures to prepare for fall meeting and appointment of its next chairman.​
