​ Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME)

- Received the Prime Minister's Award for the original "24,000 TEU Smart Containership" at the 2021 K-Tech Award.

- Signed a business agreement with Chungnam National University to developfuture technologies in high-tech fields and foster talented human resources.

- Siheung City of Gyeonggi-do signed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the "demonstration and advancement of autonomous ships to establish an innovative ecosystem for unmanned underwater vehicles in Baegot District in Siheung" with Seoul National University Siheung Campus Office and DSME.

 

​ Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI)

- Held an exhibition and then presented the entire "hydrogen value chain on land and sea," including their ammonia- and hydrogen-powered ships, at the "Green New Deal Expo 2021."

- Signed a shipbuilding contract for eight 16,000 TEU methanol-powered super container ships with Maersk, Denmark.
- Succeeded in developing the world's largest 40,000 m3 large liquefied CO2 carrier.

- Acquired the classification society Bureau Veritas's (BV) Approval in Principle (AiP) for the design of 91,000 m3 ammonia carrier equipped with ammonia fuel propulsion at the Gastech Exhibition and Conference held in Dubai.
 

​ Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SHI)

- Signed the agreement upon the "joint development and research of a marine molten salt reactor (MSR) with the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), the only atomic energy R&D institute in Korea.

- Acquired DNV's AiP as SHI and Bloom Energy Corporation (USA)'s joint development of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) powered LNG carriers succeeded.

Developed a 9.5 MW large floating wind platform (Tri-Star Float), acquiring DNV's AiP.

- Acquired DNV's AiP for the basic design of a "Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) that is ammonia fuel ready."

- Graded “A,” the highest score, from the risk assessment (JH143 Survey) implemented by the Joint Hull Committee (JHC) of the UK maritime insurance companies.

- Succeeded in proving the world's first technology wherein two autonomous ships detect and avoid each other on the ocean while they navigate towards their destination.

 

​ Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co., Ltd.

- The Ro-Ro & Passenger Ship was designated as a “world-class product."

- Announced that they delivered Korea's first LNG-powered Ro-Ro ship, FAUSTINE, lately to the ship owner.

- Received the order to construct an ammonia carrier from a Japanese shipping enterprise.

 

​ Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.

- Received a KRW 317 billion order to build a coal yard inside the Boryeong Thermal Power Complex.

- Successfully delivered the world's largest LPG-powered ship to the Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co., Ltd (BOCOMM FL), a leasing company under the Bank of Communications of China.

 

​ Hanjin Heavy Industry Co. Ltd

- Signed a shipbuilding agreement for four 5,500 TEU container ships valued at about USD 0.27
billion with a European shipping enterprise.

 

​ K-Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

- Signed the MOU on the "joint research of underwater radiated noises" with the Korea Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI) Cheonnam Headquarters and Korea CREATECH, Inc., to respond to the environmental changes of future marine technologies.

- Signed the MOU on the "joint digital technology cooperation" with Kongsberg Maritime, a Norwegian enterprise, which has the world's best technologies for autonomous ships and software.

 

​ Korean Register

- Signed the MOU on the "expertise enhancement of naval vessels" with the Korea Coast Guard (KCG).

 

​ Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Ltd.

- Introduced the 1,000 TEU eco-friendly container ship at the KORMARINE 2021.

 

​ Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

- Suezmax, a crude carrier constructed by Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Daehan Shipbuilding), has been honorably designated as a world-class product. Daehan Shipbuilding, therefore, became the third enterprise followed by a large petroleum carrier of 2019 and the crude carrier, Aframax, of 2020.

- Received an order for four 1,000 TEU container ships (two optional) from a Korean shipping enterprise, Pan Ocean Co., Ltd. (1TEU means one container of 20 feet)


​ Korean Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI)

- KOMERI and Korea Maritime & Ocean University signed the MOU on the collaboration of the industry, academe, and research institute.

​ Research Institute of Medium & Small Shipbuilding (RIMS)

- RIMS and Korea Sailing Federation signed the MOU on the development and competitiveness enhancement of the marine leisure industry.

 
​ Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO)

- KRISO implemented the first test for their deep ocean engineering basin and offshore plant successfully. (Successfully implemented the model test of the Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering's floating production storage offloading (FPSO) in the world's largest deep ocean engineering basin)
- Held a steel cutting ceremony for Korea's first electricity-powered car ferry, "K1." A bright future with no fine dust in our coastal areas because of K1 looks promising.
- KRISO promoted the establishment of the ESG management system for the sustainable development of the shipbuilding and marine engineering field.

 

​ Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS)

- Finished the construction of the "floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) equipment," which will be used for the Coral South Project, the first commercialization project of Mozambique's mine lot in Area 4.

- Planned to develop Korea's first 100% LNG cold chain cluster. KOGAS signed the shareholders' agreement, which aims to establish the SPC for cold and frozen distributions, with four enterprises, including EMP Belstar. This allows for the diversification of storing goods, such as fresh/frozen food and biomedicine, and the business expansions thereby are promising in the future.
