▶  Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering
- On May 22, 2020, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering announced that it delivered one 24,000 TEU-class ultra-large container to the HMM. The ship is equipped with DS4® (DSME Smart Ship Platform) which was developed with its own technology for smart ship solution.
- On May 21, 2020, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering officially announced that it has won an order for an ultra-large Floating LNG Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) worth $340 million (approximately KRW 410 billion) from a shipowner in Central America.
- Acquired Approval in Principal (AIP) from Lloyd's Register of shipping (LR) for 23,000 TEU class ammonia-fueled super-large container ships.

▶  Samsung Heavy Industries
- Successfully delivered the 150,000 DWT-class shuttle tanker to AET Tankers, a shipping company in Singapore. Ut is the world's first shuttle tanker officially certified as the “smart ship” by DNV GL, the Norwegian-German Register of shipping. Operational costs are expected to be reduced by better navigation support and management as well as the navigation route that can produce optimal fuel economy.
- Became the first in the industry to establish a '3D model-based ship design approval process' in collaboration with the ABS, the American Bureau of Shipping. It will accelerate the implementation of the 'Smart SHI' by linking with AI, AR, and VR technologies.

▶  Hyundai Heavy Industries
- The shipbuilding and offshore division of Hyundai Heavy Industries obtained Approval in Principal (AIP) for a floating gas power plant, Hi-FL2P (Hyundai innovative Floating LNG to Power), from the Register of shipping BV in June.
- With the construction of the 158K-class crude oil carrier that applied lightweight composite materials, it started the shipbuilding. This ship is characterized by light weight by replacing the bridge wing floor structure with perforated composite materials.
- Acquired the Approval in Principal (Digital Twin READY AiP) from the LR Register of shipping for the real-time structure monitoring system for the LNG fuel tanks of IMO Type-B.
- The newest convoy of the Philippines built by Hyundai Heavy Industries departed for the Philippines on May 18, 2020, carrying quarantine supplies such as masks.
- Concluded a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) to demonstrate the use of eco-friendly fuel “Bio Heavy Oil' that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ships.
- Hyundai Heavy Industries Group and the POSCO are promoting cooperation for structural steel development and its application in real vessels in the liquefied natural gas (LNG)-fueled ship market.
- Signed a shipbuilding contract a total of four ultra-large crude carriers (VLCC) of 300,000 tons with multiple shipping companies including European shipping companies.


▶  Hyundai Mipo Dockyard
- According to the industry, Hyundai Mipo Shipbuilding, on July 19, 2020, signed a letter of intent (LOI) to build a 50,000 DWT-class refined oil carriers (product tankers) for the Saudi Arabia's state-owned shipping company Bahri with the deal of six ships for confirmed order and four ships for options.
- Signed a contract with the Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency (UIPA) to build a smart ship for ICT convergence electric propulsion.

▶ Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries 
- As part of a win-win plan for local industry revitalization and job creation for Yeongam-gun and the shipbuilding industry suffering from the a period of slow recovery, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries announced a project plan for “Training Incentive Support for Shipbuilding Skilled Manpower” which will use its own training center.
- Built the world's first “ultra-large container ship” using liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a power source.
- Will provide eco-friendly smart technology based on the technical strength of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and the infrastructure of the Daebul Industrial-Academic Convergence Center to shipbuilding and marine small businesses in the Jeollanam-do province.

▶ Korean Register of Shipping
- Released “KR-CS++, Beyond KR Cyber Security Service,” a cyber security training tool. This tool was developed by the Korean Register of Shipping to provide practical help customers in preparing for cyber risk requirements for ships and vessels that will be tighter from next year.
- Awarded the Approval in Principal (AiP) for “Water Ballast Tank 1 Coat System, 1 Coat System,” an eco-friendly solvent-free paint.
- The four parties including Korean Register of shipping a ship design company “EMEC,” a ship engine manufacturer “Man Energy Solutions,” and a Singaporean shipping company “Navig8” signed an agreement for joint development project (JDP).
- Held a ceremony to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding and announced "A leap forward to digital and eco-friendly future technology."
- Opened “LNG Propulsion and Bunkering Simulation Center.”
- Signed an agreement with the Brunei government to provide services for ship inspection and certification issue.

▶ STX Offshore & Shipbuilding
- STX Offshore & Shipbuilding recently announced that it has completed the development of an LNG bunkering ship with a capacity of 7500㎥ in cooperation with the project team for medium-sized ship design under the Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO), a government-funded research institute.

▶ Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO)
- Became the first Korean government-funded research institute to join “Getting to Zero 2030 Coalition,” which is the partnership established with the aim of achieving the IMO's GHG reduction strategy goals.
- Selected as the lead agency of the Ocean Complex Research Center for the development of Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) - Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) complex system.

Korea Gas Corporation
- Together with five corporations including Busan Port Authority, it organized a committee for promoting establishment of a LNG bunkering joint venture. After confirmation of the project plan, it will establish the venture by October this year.
- Korea Gas Corporation and Hyundai Motors plan to establish a joint venture to build and operate convergence charging stations as part of a joint project.
- Signed an MOU with the ENI, an Italian energy company, to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector. 

- Won the grand prize “Grow Together” at the '2020 National Industry Awards' ceremony.

▶ Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute
- Jung-chul Bae, the former inspection director, was appointed as the eight president.
- The Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI) and the Korea Association of Ballast Water Management System (KABWMS) signed a “D-2 Commissioning Test Business Agreement (MOU) for Implementing the Ballast Water Management Convention.”
- Opened shipbuilding equipment acoustic test building.

▶ Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering
- Signed a contract for two 1000 TEU-class container ships with Namsung Shipping.
- Held a ceremony for delivery and naming of “Sunrise Jeju,” No. 3 support ship of the Coastal Ship Modernization Fund.
- Dae Sun Shipbuilding, a mid-sized Busan shipbuilding company, signed a contract, receiving an order from a Liberia-based shipowner, on October 30, 2020, for a total of four ships including product and chemical tanker (a vessel carrying petrochemical and special chemical products) of 50,000 DWT (deadweight tonnage) class and options.
- Signed a joint development project (JDP) for 1000 TEU-class container ships with the ABS.

▶ Daehan Shipbuilding
- Won order for the 1+1 petroleum product carrier from a Greek shipping company.
- Won order for three shuttle tankers of 155,000 DWT class (including two options) from a Greek shipping company.
- Exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of small LPG ships with the DNV GL, a German Register of Shipping.

▶ Research Institute of Medium & Small Shipbuilding
- Five parties, including the Research Institute of Medium & Small Shipbuilding, SAN Engineering, Samyoung E&C, Marine Electronics, and Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute, announced that they have begun to develop a domestic radar that incorporates the Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.
- Signed an agreement to foster marina industry with the Yacht Stadium and Yacht Maintenance Cooperative Society.
